Michael H. Schill is an expert in real estate, property, and housing law and policy. He has authored or co-authored three books and more than 40 scholarly articles. His casebook, Property, co-written with James Krier, Greg Alexander, and Lior Strahilevitz, is one of the preeminent casebooks taught in American law schools, used by more than half of all law students nationwide. Schill’s scholarship covers such issues as the impacts of housing programs on property values, the enforcement of Fair Housing Laws, mortgage securitization and the deregulation of housing markets, as well as the determinants of value in condominium and cooperative housing. He has served on the editorial board of the journal Housing Policy Debate since 1996.
