Abstract
Professor Hurst of the University of Wisconsin, reviews Willard L. King's Lincoln's Manager: David Davis, a biography of Lincoln's 1960 campaign manager who Lincoln later appointed to the Supreme Court. Professor Hurst praises King's research and clarity of presentation, but expresses a desire for King to have focused more on Davis's "ordinary cases" while a Justice, rather than on Davis's one outstanding case.
