Building on a long tradition of excellence as the birthplace of law in economics, the University of Chicago Law School launched the Institute for Law and Economics in 2011. The goal of the Institute is to promote the understanding and dissemination of the economic approach to law. It supports research and learning by students, faculty and fellows, and organizes events and activities in Chicago and beyond.
